weekend letters.

My dad caught this picture of the sunset on the way to Cali. (added some rough editing with a new app I'm obsessed with)
Breathtaking, right?

Dear Sun,
Please stop making it so daggum hot. I can't handle these 100+ days. I understand it's summer and all, but it's not fun to get dressed when I'm trying to figure out the least possible clothing I can manage to wear for the sake of the heat without looking like a harlot. I'm begging you, okay?!

Dear FUGE Summer Camp,
I'm coming to meet you next week, and bringing lots of friends with me. I really really hope that you will not be hot. I'm praying that you will be a retreat for the students and that while we are visiting that they will open their hearts to what God is preparing them to learn. See ya soon!

Dear It's The Little Things Blog
You're coffee talk blog posts literally have me doubled over every time I read them. I really feel like we could be best friends in real life. That's all.

Dear Julep,
I really don't like you anymore. Wow- that sounds harsh. You're quality is getting icky and I'm just not as impressed as I used to be. Although you have great customer service, I don't want to have to call them as much as I've had to. As hard as it is to say this, I think we need to break up. And it's not me, it's you.

beachy chic.

In East TN it's down right blazing. The high tomorrow? 106...Yeah.
If it's going to be that hot, I'm either going to be in the water, or inside, but I'd rather the water.
And if I am going to be in the water, I'd rather the beach.
But wouldn't we all?

Here's the outfit I'd be catching some rays in if I was laying on the coast of the Hampton's.
Or if I was riding around Hilton Head on a cute little bicycle.
(That's the chic-est I can think of while being at the beach)

And a little tune to start the weekend right.

obsessions.

{1}
I recently won a giveaway on another blog for a $150 gift credit to Threadsense. I've been drooling over this site for a couple months now, but now I actually get to play on someone else's dime (that's always nice)!
I wore the dress on Saturday night, Logan and I are celebrated our third anniversary with a trip to Asheville, NC.

{2}
Speaking of shopping. I made a life-altering decision this weekend. You may have seen it on Twitter...
But I still have some gift card left for Threadsense, and I've earned lots of free jewelry I need to pick out with Stella & Dot. I'll be fine... right?

{3}
Okay. Plain and simple- I need this. Like seriously? How perfect is this. Stylish and not too tacky-festive. It's sold out right now, but... if it comes back- am I willing to go ahead and break my rule? A week in- I'm no good at this!

{4}
I discovered one of the best blogs- ever. I don't know if I should be proud or ashamed of the next comment, but like always, I'll say it anyway...
I've read every post :)
That's what you get when you're bored on a Saturday.

I'm off to work. Can't wait for it to be over. It's PLL night ;)

♥♥♥

It seriously doesn't even seem possible that today Logan and I are celebrating three years of being together. Almost daily, God shows me qualities in Logan that were given to him to help me be a better person: his loving heart for people, his generosity, and his faithfulness. Thank you, Lord, for making someone so special. And thank you for having him to love me.

Day2Night.

As most of you know, I've recently started as a stylist for Stella & Dot. Thus, I've been learning the huge difference jewelry (... accessories over all, really) make for an outfit. I wanted to show you guys how I would style a light, high-low dress (a perfect, must-have for summer) with jewelry to completely re-make the look from day to night! All the jewelry and the clutch are from Stella & Dot and can be purchased here

"We spend most of our lives trying to make things happen for ourselves & for people we love. But life is not reduced to what you give or know or achieve.  Nor is it reduced to your mistakes, your failures, or your sin.  Life isn't even defined by whom you love.  Rather, it is defined by the God who loves you.  In other wordsm you are not the central character-not even of your own story.  This is not meant to demean you; it is meant to set you free."

Stella&Dot// Launch Party!

It's a new week y'all!
I am so excited this morning as I write this-- Yes, this morning (2:50 to be exact...)
I'm throwing my first Stella & Dot party today! I'm so thrilled to be a part of such a successful business and I can't wait to get started! If you guys would like to purchase a piece through my trunk show, click here and take a browse... It would be appreciated :)

Here are some of the pieces on my wishlist:

This piece is so versatile!  Pair it with another necklace for layering (I'm going to use my Adina Necklace with  it) of wear it by itself for a pretty, dainty look.

Speaking of dainty... I love these small, yet bold pretties! As seen on Katherine Hiegl (with our Bahari Necklace)!!

Also a Tori and celebrity fav- this spikey, shiny goodness. As seen on Katy Perry.

Lastly, I'm drooling over these coral-inspired hoops. LOVE!

I hope you will go find your own favorites at my site
Thanks for all your support.

Outfit Crush: Mod//Miranda Lambert

If you know me, you'd know I have a huge crush on Miranda Lambert, just like my boyfriend (...and probably every other man on the planet!) She seems so real, she's got that crazy inner person just like I do, and she's so gorg! Not to mention she rocks it all while still looking womanly (not a size 00!)
I saw this photograph of her and it made me love her even more. I'm so into the retro/mod look and on her it's just too good.
So for this Friday Fancy- I thought I'd make my own Mod look in honor of  Miranda. And I'm not going to lie-- it's making me drool. Maybe my favorite creation... ever.
Behold.

We shall end with one of my favorite songs from her newest album. Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!
This get up is making me all kinds of crrrrazy. I love it!
I was so inspired by these cheetah-licious shorts from Michael Kors. Anyone that has $500 to spend on shorts should really get them. But this girl will be looking for a dupe at F21 :)

Julep Maven Box: June

Hey y'all! I was going to do this post as a vlog, but I chickened out...
Maybe next time- right?

Anyway, my Julep box came last week and I am totally in love with the colors!
Such a sweet reminder that summertime is here!

This color is really cool, and definitely going to be the first one I use. I saw a color like it, "Navigate Her" by Essie, in the drugstore one day but resisted because I knew I would be getting a Julep alert soon, and I went all kinds of crazy when I saw this color (almost an exact dupe...). I had to switch to a different box to get it- but it was SO worth it!

Although I like this color, I already had an old Julep shade a lot like it, "Helena" (I loved the shade so much in the winter that I bought it outside of my box), thus, I wasn't too excited about it getting it (but had to accept it to get Courtney). Nonetheless, this sizzling fuchsia is very pretty.
The best thing about this color:
If you're someone that stays with the reds and pinks on your nails- you'll love the hue.
If you're someone that likes to go outside the box- you'll love the intensity.
Universally pleasing aka great for gifting.
I'm going to be real. I haven't tried this yet. I mean, who gets excited for sunscreen? Not me. It doesn't really have a smell or anything. It's kind of boring.
The plus side is that Julep surprised us and sent a matching lip balm with SPF in it too. It's vanilla mint flavor and it's yummy and safety first!
That's all I have to say about that...
:)

This month, Julep offered the chance for an "Add-On" polish. I chose Sasha and I'm so happy I did. I've been wanting a good melon shade for a while now. I love that this one is a creme finish, it's gorgeous! I think it's one of my over-all favs from Julep thus far!

I'm serious y'all. I'm so obsessed with these colors. Mostly Courtney and Sasha.
If you are interested in Julep, e-mail me at torigjohnson(at)gmail(dot)com and I can get you a good deal on your first box!

summer essentials: beauty products.

I wrote this post for Kelly at Herringbone Lane last week.
I thought I would share it here in case y'all missed it.
I have lots to talk about since this is one of my favorite subjects so let's get to it

1. Urban Decay Primer Potion in "Sin", $20 Okay. First of all, if you aren't using a primer (of any kind) under your shadows- you need to stop. now. They make all the difference in the world. I never go without them. This one is my fav. I love everything about this champagne-colored magical cream. Use it as a light base under your shadows and I swear they won't budge all day.

2. e.l.f. Studio Cream Eyeliner in "Coffee", $3 Talk about all day hold- this is the stuff! I've been using this potted liner for almost 3 years now and I will forever. Don't let the price fool you-- It's great! In the summer, I ditch the blacks and stick with browns and golden hues and this coffee shade is perfect for a more natural look that is totally sweat-proof!

3. Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips in "Waikiki Strip", $12.95 In the summer, there is nothing prettier than a little shimmer on sun-kissed skin. This product is perfect. The best part is that it is multi-use: a bronzer, a highlighter for the cheek bones, or an eye shadow! This stuff is the perfect pick-me-up for dull skin.

4. MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural, $29 I ditch my liquid foundation for this in the summer months. Think a compact version of Bare Minerals plus some more coverage. This gives my face the perfect "air-brushed" flawless finish. Love love love.

5. Forever 21 Striped Floppy Hat, $13.80 Although we all want the tanned to perfection look, it's not so safe- let's be real. I think the perfect fashionable way to protect ourselves from the sun (besides sun block, of course) is a too-cute floppy hat. They are really popular right now so you can find them just about anywhere, but this is one of my favs from Forever 21, and that price is too good.

6. Julep Nail Polish in "Suzie", $14 I don't know if y'all have ever heard of Julep but it's a great little thing I talk a lot about on the blog. I did a post about it here. They have great nail colors (comparable to OPI, Essie, and Butter London). I love this hue I got not too long ago- the best minty blue you've ever seen. This looks awesome against tanned skin and mint is huge for the season.

7. Smashbox O-GLOSS, $22 I really love pink lips in the summer, bright and pretty. But instead of heavy lipstick, I trade out for this perfect Smashbox gloss. This gloss reacts with your personal skin chemistry to transform from clear into your own custom shade of pink. It's really too cool.

8. Proactiv Green Tea Moisturizer After a day in the sun, aloe and regular moisturizers just don't cut it. I love the Green Tea moisturizer from Proactiv to replenish my skin. It smells good. It's silky and light. What more could you need?!

xx,
