Julep//April

Happy Friday!
I'm so excited to announce that my April Julep Maven box came in the mail today and I can't wait to show you the wonderful Spring-tastic products I got!
This month I got:

This is some wonderful smellin' stuff. Julep claims that this creme exfoliates, hydrates, and nourishes your feet to sandal season readiness in just 2 uses! It smells like mint and cucumbers. So excited to try this out!

"Mandy"- $14
Mandy is a beautiful, bright, deep coral-pink creme nail color. This color is so spring-y. I can't wait to get it on my toes. It's going to look fabulous.

"Susie"- $14
Susie is a super pretty and fresh mint green creme nail color. I was kind of if-y about a mint colored polish but now that I have it in my hands I think I'm really going to enjoy it. It's almost a white shade (which I die for on my nails) so I'm eager to see if I like this just as well.

Along with the major goodies, Julep sent me some neon orange toe seperators and some yummy little chocolate Easter eggs.
I can't wait to use all my stuff! For those of you that like what you see, it's not too late to sign up and get your first box for only A PENNY! Take the style quiz and when you get to checkout use the code: SHAREONMARCH to receive the discount. Click -here- to get to the website!
But remember, the offer above is only good until the 31st of March so you better hurry!

This weekend I have absolutely no plans. I need to finish homework, blog a little, maybe take a hike with Logan, and paint my nails :)
How about you?

11:11

One of my favorite blogs ever, Life as a California Wife, was running this cute little tag, so I figured I'd play too! I always love reading these kinds of things.

It's easy. I answer her 11 questions, and I make up 11 new ones and tag some friends!

Below are my answers to the questions by CA wife:
1. Favorite time of year? Why?
I love fall. I love everything about the warm days, not summer hot but not winter cold, they are just right. I love fall things: hot apple cider, football games, colorful leaves, Halloween dress up. And is it just me, or do all the really good fashion trends come out in the fall?

2. Drink of choice?
Water with lemon. For sure. Preferably in my Tervis tumbler or my Nalgene bottle :)

3. What is your favorite chore?  What is your least favorite chore?
Who in the world has a favorite chore?! That's weird... If it is a chore, it's not fun. My least favorite is definitely dusting. I loathe everything about it. Who really sees dust anyway?

4. Favorite childhood TV show?
This is such a tough one. All the good shows were around in the 90's. If I had to pick one, I'd say Out of the Box on Disney channel. If I had to pick a couple, I'd say Gullah Gullah Island, Doug, and Little Bear.

5. What's your biggest pet peeve?
I really hate it when people claim to be "real" but really all they are is rude. End of story. So many girls think there isn't a difference. I'm all for being real, at all times, but there is nothing uglier than a girl that can't control her mouth and her comments.

6. Favorite color to wear?
Oh goodness. Well I do like love my black and other neutrals, but lately, I've been addicted to color-blocking with brights and neons. I guess it's the change of seasons but I can't stop.

7. What is your dream job?
I have a couple. First, I would love to be an editor for a huge fashion magazine, perferably ElleSeventeen, or Teen Vogue. Next, I'd love to work at the zoo with the elephants. This is completely inspired by the movie Water for Elephants. I can't decide if it is because of how stunning Reese Witherspoone looked in those costumes, or the fact that I wanted to save all the elephants in the world after seeing how gentle and kind they are! Third, I'd love to be a personal shopper/stylist for some famous singer or movie star. But honestly, I really want to be an English teacher. I can't wait to graduate!

8. Top 2 Magazines?
Elle & Seventeen

9. Favorite breakfast food?
I really love bacon. Really "chewie" bacon. Sometimes dipped in syrup. Yum! I also really love blueberry waffles with whipped cream. And I love biscuits and gravy (especially at Cracker Barrel). I like cereal too, but usually not for breakfast, more for dinner. I'm also really wanting to try this "breakfast" recipe I found on good ol' Pinterest.

10. Are you planning to see The Hunger Games this weekend?
I want to see it, but definitely not this weekend. I don't want to be a part of the hype. I'll probably wait for it to come out on DVD. I only go to the movies if it is a movie I'm dying to see. They are just so expensive these days! I'd much rather spend my money on something else (a.k.a. shopping)

11. Favorite spring-time activity?
I love watching baseball games. My boyfriend is a coach at our old high-school so I go to those games pretty often. I love everything about sitting out in the perfect spring weather, on top of my blanket, shoes off, and the wonderful food!

Okay, now my 11 questions are:
1. If you could only use one makeup brand, which would you choose?
2. Favorite scent?
3. Your making a sandwich, what do you put on it?
4. Favorite App?
5.What is your go-to nail polish color?
6. Favorite movie as a child & favorite movie now?
7. If you could only read 1 blog for the rest of your life, what would it be?
8. Favorite book you've ever read?
9. Favorite fast food?
10. What's the best date you've been on?
11. Favorite song at the moment?

I'm tagging Taylor from The Presutti's, Erika from Rouge&Whimsy, Nicole from Running in Heels, Melinda from JolindaGaby from This Little Port, and all of my lovely readers! If you choose to answer these questions, make sure you leave me your link in the comments below. Can't wait to read all your answers!

julep.

Hey everyone!
I wanted to share a little jewel I've discovered. It's called the Julep Maven program. Ever heard of it?
I've been using Julep since last year, and with absolutely no complaints here, I decided it would only be proper I talked about it here :)

Julep is a company that makes nail colors and treatments. All 3-free! I would compare them easily with OPI, Butter London, and Essie.

They have a program called Julep Maven. It's so fun- I can barely stand it. Think Birchbox- nail style.

What happens is:
Every month, the sweet ladies at Julep send out "Sneak Peek Boxes" which contain $40+ worth of the hottest polishes and products-- for only $19.99. The best part? You get these goodies before they are released to the public. We're talking celebrity status here people!
Even better, the boxes are tailored to your style. Before signing up, you get to take a super fun style quiz. This helps Julep deliver the best of the best. Just to make sure you'll love it, they send an e-mail every 20th of the month with a preview of what you will be receiving. Don't like it? You can choose another style of box with different products or cancel for that month! You will pay nothing! (My favorite part)
Julep is delivered to your doorstep every month. It's like a mini birthday every month!

My favorite color: Hayden
The best neon-peach. Perfect for Spring and Summer!

The benefits:
  • Being a Maven, gives you exclusive access to COLOR!  You get it first, and YOU decide how often you want to receive your beauty editor Sneak Peek Box
  • For just $19.99 a month, you'll receive over $40 worth of trendsetting polish colors and cutting-edge treatment products each month customized in a gift-able Sneak Peek Box
  • Each Sneak Peek Box features new, never before released colors and treatments FIRST to you, before anyone else
  • Your box also includes hits and cult favorites - the products we like to keep on the top of editors' minds

  • 20% off all other julep.com purchases
  • FREE shipping on ALL your purchases
  • Each box also comes with a surprise and delight element- something to look forward to!
  • Receive additional membership perks throughout the year
Okay. What's not to love?!
But... if that's not enough...

For the remains of March I have a special coupon code for you guys to use.
Instead of paying $19.99 (what a monthly box costs)
You will get your first box for only... drum-roll please...
ONE CENT! (that even includes shipping!)

Take the quiz. When you add your first box to your basket, type in: SHAREONMARCH into the coupon code box.
Select "Maven Shipping" (free) and watch the price vanish before your eyes! :)

if you asked me///

If you asked me... You would know that I am so excited for spring break next week. You'd know that I'm going to Asheville this weekend then coming home and doing absolutely nothing, which for me is: painting my nails, watching Ugly Betty on Netflix, and playing Draw Something. Sounds so lovely.
If you asked me... You would know that I've been in a slump. I've started a new diet plan and I think that is the reason for all of this. I've stayed away from blogging and people {so sorry!}, and held tight to good music and lots of vegetables. It's been helpful, but not enough. Hopefully spring break will bring me up and out.

If you asked me... You would know that I am obsessed with the a couple things lately.
The biggest and best: The Civil Wars. Oh em gee. I could lay in the grass and listen to them all day and be ever content with life.
The second: my new car. I traded in the love-bug for a Ford Escape. Yes, American made... Needless to say, my southern man, Logan, is thrilled. I never knew how freeing it would be to be higher off the ground. Sweet bliss.
Three: Getting into my Norks {Nike shorts} and my Chacos again. Ahhh- Summertime :)

The madness has just begun//

This weekend my church hosted an annual youth rally.
Motown Madness.
About 700 from churches all over town gathered to celebrate and dig into the word of God.
Relationships were built- With peers, with college leaders, and with Him.
Chill bumps were experienced, sleep was not.
 Tears flowed, souls sang.
Hearts were broken with conviction, and healed with the mercy and grace of our Father.
He was definitely in our presence all weekend.

Here is a video of the weekend my talented Jilly made. Enjoy.

3 things you don't know about me.

One of my biggest agreements with myself about this blog is that I will always make it personal, but never give over every detail about my life. Well today, it looks like I'm breaking my own rule...
1. I'm deathly afraid of storms.
2. I'm in love with watching makeup tutorials on YouTube. My favorites channels are MakeupByTiffanyD, meganheartsmakeup, and MakeupByAlli.
3. When I'm in the car by myself, I love to sing... very loudly.
