{monday update}

Happy Monday friends!

I hope all of you had as fun of a weekend as I had :)

Since we are quickly approaching Thanksgiving, I thought I would share a huge thing I'm thankful today.

This weekend really reminded me that I'm so thankful for Logan {my boyfriend of almost 2 and some change years if you are new}.

We literally spent the whole weekend together, much needed, and I would not change a thing about it. We had such a fun time just being each other's company, no matter where we were.

Friday night was football night- first game of the playoffs!

The Trojans {both Logan's little brother's and my little brother's team} brought in a huge victory.

Yeah... I know!

Saturday, Logan and I had the pleasure of attending a wedding of two friends of his.

The wedding and reception was gorgeous!

Sunday was a relaxing day.

Church and then lunch at his grandmother's house.

His family was there. It was so fun to laugh and watch him interact with love and gentleness with his little cousin... They are a great, and hilarious, team.

What do you do if they talk about you behind your back?

What do you do if they are liars?

What do you do if they say hurtful things?

What do you do if they are deceitful?

What do you do if they are manipulative?

What do you do if they are unloveable?

Nothing... 

One of the hardest things I've been struggling with lately is keeping this big mouth shut. How many times do we think that we are capable of taking things into our own hands instead of letting God do the work? That not only shows that we are ignorant fools, for thinking we can do anything near what the Creator of the Universe can {and will do in time}, but it also shows that we don't trust in His plans. That we don't trust that He will do enough, maybe?

I hate to admit it, but, I'm easily angered. Maybe it's because I'm protective, or because I'm still not out of the "everyone is out to get me" mindset high school gives teenage girls.

I'm praying this morning that God will help me shut my mouth, and let me take joy in seeing Him work around me. I'm praying to keep my peace... Isn't that something we all need?

Design Software Giveaway!

A couple of weeks ago, MyMemories Suite contacted me asking me to try out their award-winning software. {And I'm so glad I accepted!}

This "digital scrapbook software" is one of the best design programs I've used thus far.

Usually, being new to the blogging world, I do all my design-work on Picnik (which is nice, but limited). MMS, on the other hand has so many amazing features that it kind of makes me fall in love a little bit.

Another great thing about the software was the fact that it was so easy to use. Usually learning a new program makes me want to pull my hair out...

Guest Blog: Nicole from Running In Heels

Hey guys! Here is a wonderful guest post from a new blog friend, Nicole. She blogs over {here}.

Hey there, the Editorial readers! I'm Nicole, from Running in Heels.


I'm so excited to be guest posting for Ms. Tori today for many reasons, but one that is very specific:

I want to live in the South. 

And truth be told, I want to be a real, authentic Southern Belle too.

But, I'm not. 

I actually live up here in the Great NW where all the hippies live. And these aren't those cute, runway model hippies. I'm talking dirty, don't-shower-for-weeks hippies. Not as pretty, now is it?

But don't you worry, I am not a hippie.

No, ma'am.

I'm just an everyday wanna-be Southern Belle.

And since Tori is a true Southern Belle herself, I thought it'd be a fantastic idea to share some of the many reasons why I so badly want to live in the South. 

REASON ONE

There are very few hippie/lazy/grungy people down there.

You see, I've had people tell me when they fly into the Portland Airport they become confused because they're not sure whether the airline dropped them off at the local homeless shelter or at the actual airport. 

REASON TWO

Everyone is always getting their heart blessed. 

One time, up here in the great state of Oregon, I used the phrase, "oh, bless your heart" and the girl looked at me like I had lost my ever-loving mind.

I want to be able to bless people's hearts all day, every day without being outcasted.

Is that too much to ask?

REASON THREE

Y'all say y'all.

I say y'all only because I purposely taught myself. 

And because of this, I regularly get looked at like I'm a lunatic.

REASON FOUR

Y'all wear dresses to your football games.

Shall I share a story about this? I think I should.

So I'm getting ready for a weekend getaway down to Nashville and then Alabama to watch the Bama-Kentucky football game. As I'm packing I'm thinking to myself, "okay, we're going to a football game. Let's not go crazy here, just take jeans and a t-shirt." And like life always works, my phone rang. 

"Hey Nicole, be sure to bring a dress."

First of all, I was fully planning on taking dresses, but why they cared that I brought a dress was unbeknownst to me. So I asked why.

"You'll have to wear it to the football game."

Umm, no. 

But oh, I did. And oh, did I love it. If I tried to wear a dress to a football game up here, I'd be shunned.
Shunned, I tell you.

REASON FIVE

You drink the best Luzianne sweet tea I've ever tasted.

The only reason I know about this fine crop of tea you all have down there is because I have family that lives in Missouri, and they drink it like it's their job.

REASON SIX

Y'all can EAT!

Amen to that.

REASON SEVEN

I want a true southern gentleman to sweep me off my feet.

I like their manners, and their back road put-some-gravel-in-my-travel way of life.
That deserves a big ol' AMEN!

And there you have it, some of many reasons why I want to live down south of the Mason-Dixon line.

But until I actually do, I'll just be turning on my faux-southern accent, saying y'all, and blessing everyone's heart up here in the Great NW. Oh yeah, and doing this...

Oh gosh, I'm sorry. Do Southern Belles not do that?
